BACKSTORY[1-2 Paragraphs MINIMUM 10-20 Sentences]:

Born to a Mechanic father and a Teacher of a mother, Malik had a relatively uneventful beginning in his life. He was raised happy and content, or as much as you can be in an underground vault as the world cleansed by atomic fire above suffers outside. He was a very enthusiastic and active child, considered one of the 'sporty' kids of the vault and well-liked amongst his fellow children as well as (most of) the adults. However, when it came to classes, he began to worryingly struggle. His friends, family and even the various Vault staff who didn't know the boy could tell he was intelligent to a degree, but he still seemed to crack when it came to the classrom and academia. The one place that he stood out was in creative writing, making stories and even writing a couple of poems. He continued to have difficulties with the 'hard' sciences and subjects, such as mathematics. As he grew older, Malik grew to argue with the smaller gangs of troublemakers and vandals in the Vault, and he got into more than a couple of fights.

Malik grew to have a certain sense of justice, and his arguments with the gangs got more and more frequent. As he got older, the G.O.A.T drew closer, and the dread of the word 'Garbage Burner' floated in his mind as he remembered how poorly he usually did on tests. Determined to for once, ace a test, he studied as hard as he ever had before. He spent some nights without sleep just trying to make sure he could anticipate what was coming and what were the more appropriate answers. After a sit-down with his father, he eventually decided there wasn't a point being nervous. He would answer what he thought was right, and if they landed him in the worst place possible, that was just how it was going to be. When the test came around, Malik was surprised at his results - he was determined to serve the Vault as one of its security officers. He hadn't expected something that felt so suited to him; he hadn't even considered Security, but as everything sank in, he realized how well it worked for him.

Rather than try and coast or take things easy, Malik decided he would try even harder. This was what he would be doing for the rest of his life, and if he wasn't going to give it his all here, when would he ever? He performed highly throughout training, more for his constant practice rather than his natural talent, though he had a decent amount of that going for him too. After training in all the procedures and practicies he would need, Malik and other prospects were made full Security Officers and sworn in to protect the Vault and its people over their own lives if necessary. Still guided by the idea of doing what was right, the new officer was surprisingly understanding with the troublemakers that came around despite his history as a young man. He continues to serve now, with more years of experience under his belt.
