Two Paragraph Backstory(For Returning players it is only one Paragraph), Five to Seven Sentences per Paragraph:

Born in the very typical, uniform way for a Turian, Octerax came into the galaxy on the Turian colony world of Aephus, known for its shipyards and productions. His father's position as a Naval Research and Development Officer as well as his mother's Engineering expertise meant that they were highly regarded around the colony. Their decorated careers in the military did not help either when it came to expectations regarding Octerax's performance once he grew into public service. Although he wasn't unwilling to play or associate with the other children during classes or just in general, he always seemed more dry and blunt compared to them, which was a surprising feat for a Turian. This attitude continued as he grew older, pushing himself to perform highly and to not be distracted by other things around him - believing that if he wasn't giving his all to something then there wasn't a point in doing it at all, he became enveloped in his studies and even more focused once he turned 15, and he was put forward for boot camp. After passing through basic training and going through a number of aptitude tests, he was assigned to a Turian Army Legion and given his position as a Private First Class within a standard infantry company.

Octerax took his new role, as he did most things incredibly seriously, coming off as somewhat stuffed-up even to his fellows. As he continued, his intense attitude toward his work became balanced with a more mellow demeanour around his fellows when off-duty or in more relaxing situations. He took part in various counter-insurgency operations as his main source of action - mainly battling Turian separatist groups, including the rather infamous cell later to become publicly known as Facinus. It was during his service against this organization that Octerax stood out to his superiors as he acted in the interests of his fellow soldiers, taking an unusual, non-protocol risk for him as he put himself through enemy fire repeatedly to retrieve eight other wounded Turian soldiers, as well as being part of the team to hold a Turian position against the insurgents for a number of hours despite being ambushed and outnumbered, with their Commander dead.

Although he proved himself to be a courageous and capable soldier, with he and the team who held their position earning Nova Clusters for their actions, command was unsure due to him still only serving in the required public service. Unsure if he was the 'lifer' they desired of the position they envisioned for him, their hopes were realized when he opted to stay in the military after he turned 30. Almost immediately after handing in his papers, he received new ones stating that he was selected for an elite training program and to report immediately. Octerax found that he was not just training for any elite unit, but the illustrious Blackwatch. He found the training a harrowing experience; he was broken down repeatedly and forced back up both physically and mentally, and in all ways was exhausted on multiple occasions. Though he thought the training was going to kill him, his body and mind were hardened and refined by the process and by the end of it all he graduated to a satisfying degree, much to his surprise. He was granted the rank of Lance Corporal and assigned to a Blackwatch unit immediately; he found that he fit in well with the others, sharing much of his same attitudes toward their work.

Octerax expected to be assigned to defend Palaven as was usually Blackwatch's MO - when the Reapers came, that wasn't the case for his unit. Much to his chagrin, he was instead sent to Earth to aid in the war efforts there, since almost all of the citizenry and Turian military within Hierarchy space was dedicated to Palaven's survival.
