Two Paragraph Backstory(For Returning players it is only one Paragraph), Five to Seven Sentences per Paragraph.

Michael Laurencine, the second Michael of the Laurencines, a simple person many can say. He grew up as a farmer on a colony, set apart from the rest of the galaxy with work in mind and nothing else. He would follow his schedule; wake up, get dressed, work the fields, eat lunch with his buddies, go back out on the field to work some more, and then call it a night. A hard worker, one who didn't really speak much nor cared for the rantings of someone in the Alliance who was apparently 'famous' for his deeds in a war he never cared for. Life was simple here, it was enjoyable there were no faults that happened, nothing that caused much of a complaint. He was used to the whole idea of working repetitive jobs in order to make a living and contribute to a community. How does this really tie into the fact he joined the Military? Well... Being used to something doesn't mean when something bad happens, it does not collapse your whole reality in life, for people when pushed to a corner rely on all means to survive.

You would think in a galaxy wide war, against a foe people would unite under a single banner in order to survive, for most that would be the case but nothing is always certain at this point. The Reapers that most who know of them, the destroyers who attempted to wipe out all sentient life on the galaxy made work difficult for the farmers, trade routes were destroyed and the stacking food that was harvested and lack of payment for it hit the farmers hard. This was not what pushed them to the edge, when trade routes are destroyed, those that also raid such routes lose their gain of income or resources to survive. One such group was pushed back, pushed closer and closer to the source form the oncoming onslaught, where they were pushed to the wall, and for once instead of simply taking the small cargo freighters for their resources... They came to the source.

When one looks up to the sky to see a group of vessels ranging from many shapes and sizes, landing in your fields themselves, farmers usually get irritated.. The owner of the farm, the one Michael worked under stepped out to confront these rude visitors, only to be shot in the chest by a rifle, killed on the stop for all to see. Farmers on colonies are not exactly unarmed, but they are practically untrained, especially in these peaceful environments without support. A firefight ensued against Pirates, who were already well versed in eliminating civilians that were lightly armed, in order to gain the goods they so desire. Families on the small quiet planet were wiped out, the survivors banded together for one last stand. However in the would be lasting moments that ensued, of what would have been certain demise to a group of people that felt they never deserved this, a blue streak went through the sky, hitting one of the pirate vessels, although burning the fields, obliterating many of the pirates that stayed behind to watch with beers in hand. An Alliance vessel, although something not cared for usually was a sight for sore eyes, soldiers, marines, commandos, or whatever you could think of poured to rout the pirates. This ship knew of the coming storm that arrived and was retreating from the Reapers after the route had collapsed, and followed the band of vessels that were partially known for raiding civilian vessels, they went to intercept them and in this case, they found the little farming planet, rescued them from the pirates, and took them away from the coming onslaught that was arriving in due time.

Life on a military ship was intriguing for Michael, it was like farming, except with a whole new sort of ideal and job to it. A schedule where you wake up, do your fair share of work, rest for a bit, and do the rest before calling it a night, all with handy benefits that could support is now broken family. This ideal intrigued him, and with the information of the war pouring in now through his ears, now uncovered from the peaceful life on the farm, he asked to sign up to his saviors, to not only contribute to something that could support his new found community, and his family, but to actually do something that meant a difference that was not just working fields.

His basic training process was in all sense of the words pretty basic. His choice of specialization was not something special, he didn't dream of anything big really, only something to contribute to. He became a regular Infantry rifleman. A soldier, one that is trained to work on a repetitive schedule of sleep, wake up, work, go back to sleep, and repeat. Instead of tilling fields however, his job was protect those would-be farmers in the future from whatever threat that can come, and to survive for the family who now relies on him more than ever.
