Two Paragraph Backstory: Born on the flotilla to a communications officer and an agricultural specialist aboard the Shellen, one of the three liveships. For the first several years of her life, she lived in near-isolation within the confines of an incubation pod until she was ready to brave the interior of the ship for herself in her own biosuit. Her mother, a cryptologist, was extremely doting towards her daughter. Her father however, spent much time away from his family as care towards the agricultural sector of the ship was in high demand, given that there were so few ships that could provide for the entire flotilla.

Going through the early stages of childhood, Marz found herself brought up by her mother and several close family friends in lieu of sending her away to become educated elsewhere on the ship. With the majority of her childhood being lax and uninteresting, it wasn't until her adolescence that she took an interest in what the maintenance crews did in the lower confines of the vessel. As an understudy for the chief engineer, Marz took it upon herself to start learning how everything came together to form the ship that was their home.

Coming into early adulthood, Marz set out on her pilgrimage in 2159, she found herself on the Citadel for the next couple of years as a maintenance engineer in one of the civilian power couplings. Saving most of her earnings over her time there, she eventually summed up enough money for a small one-man EVA craft that she would present to Captain of the York, Wal'Cun vas York. Accepting of her gift, the young Quarian was allocated a spot in the engineering department in the lower maintenance levels.

After having some experience under her belt, it wasn't long until the Migrant Fleet had gone into active conflict with both the Geth. While her ship was a part of the heavy flotilla, she never saw exceptional action, given her position in the bowels of the craft itself, save for the occasional rattle of impact clusters or gunfire from the ship's weapons. Her ship having survived the war with minimal casualties, Marz volunteered to take part in an up and coming taskforce in hopes of improving relations between the Quarians and other races by playing a part on behalf of her people.
