Two Paragraph Backstory(For Returning players it is only one Paragraph), Five to Seven Sentences per Paragraph: Laurentius was born a bastard child on a remote Turian colony between a 'Lifer' posted within the Unit that was tasked with defending the planet, and one of the local Colonists. In an unfortunate display for the Turian Child, his would-be Father was shipped back to Palaven alongside his Unit before he was born, leaving him to be cared for by his Mother – but not before the Father at least left them a sum of credits to help raise the child with at the very least.

The Turian Child was brought up by the Mother, being taught the fundamentals of life yet still – even despite the challenge that was inherently posed by being a single parent. But their position on the Colony, one of the many psychiatrists which served in the public health sector, permitted both her and the child a relatively easy life however. Most of the Turian’s upbringing was spent in the care of the Mother’s immediate family, being raised and educated in a similar field to what she did as her job. They were capable of looking past the stigma that stemmed from Laurentius being a bastard child, more-so yet remaining ideally focused on the fact that they would have been capable of serving to some degree when they were fifteen – as all Turians did.

There wasn’t much of Laurentius’ Father to remember as far as the child was concerned. Yet he would have always asked the passing servicemen stationed on the planet whether or not they knew of his Father, using old photographs to try and provide a face for them to remember. The odds were unnaturally slim, or so it seemed. Years passed, but he would have eventually discovered the identity of his Father when he was thirteen. And following the two year span which came afterwards, he deemed himself ready to go to Palaven. He kept the knowledge which’d been bestowed to him by his Mother in mind, that of being in a similar field. He had been taught the principles of people and their minds. To console, and understand how the psyche worked. It was useful if anything at the very least.

Cue one year of training within the ‘Boot camp’. Hardly the easiest undertaking, but yet something that Laurentius was capable of pushing through with some measure of resolve. In the off time during his time on Palaven, he was able to contact his Father once more even. The opportunity presented itself, and he was optimistic about the idea of being able to see them again. There was no spite held between the two despite the events of the past, the two of them both somewhat glad to have actually had time to catch up with one another. Laurentius was offered a stable platform to base himself on during his stay on Palaven for his training, and learned quite a lot throughout his stay in addition to what he was learning from the military establishment. He had come to find out that he once had a half-brother, who had inadvertently died during the Relay 314 incident on Shanxi – an incident which drove his Father into a lapsing depression. Despite the society’s view on sacrifice as a whole, it wasn’t something the Father themselves took positively towards.

But in spite of this, they yet sought to try and persuade Laurentius to take up arms as a rifleman within the Turian military. It went against the notion of what the Turian was taught by their Mother – of going into the same field as her when it came to serving society. Instead, he would have took up arms just like his Father did. And when that year of training came to pass, the persuasion had gotten through. The skills which were granted by the Military were far too useful to pass up. In these early years, he could only fall back into the ranks of the Turian Military.

Years would pass. Ten of them in fact. In 2175, the Turian abruptly concluded his service so that he could go back to the Colony on which he was born. He’d received news that his Mother had fallen ill as a result of their age at this point, so he set off so that he could have at least cared for her in the short span of time that she was anticipated to have left. Throughout the span of time that he spent looking after his Mother, Laurentius cast thought to what he would do in the following years. To him, it was no secret that the Turian Military was hardly as glamorous as he had hoped. Furthermore, he longed for a more active battlefield than what he had got throughout most of his active service. His Father had, for the most part, kindled that desire by painting the Military as being the fast route to glory and a high position within Turian Society.

When his Mother had passed on, the Turian found himself moving back to Palaven in order to try and reunite with his Father once more. For the most part, he sought direction – he didn’t think himself ready to try and work out his own plans or ideas just yet. But he was taken aback to learn that his Father had committed suicide not long after the Turian Military saw Laurentius’ departure from Palaven for his service. Having never been informed due to the informal nature of his ramshackle family, it forcefully put a number of things into the hands of Laurentius. Mementos and equipment which he would later use of his own accord. Starting 2176, the Turian started to mindlessly wander the stars, casually drifting as a Mercenary engrossed within their own freedom.

Years would come to pass with a whole myriad of events unfolding between there and now, drawing upon the skills that they’d picked up in their youth. But in the aftermath of the Reaper War, their actions of working alongside other trained Soldiers had otherwise rekindled a desire to work in a Military field once more, although he yet remained adamant that the Turian Military itself was likely not what he was after. What presented itself instead was the Joint Task Force, something which could have probably permitted him to call upon the teachings of both his Military-orientated Father and both his Mother and her Family, putting both sides of the coin to good use. Although he was hardly a master at either field, he could have at least filled the two shoes to a degree that was better than there being nobody at all.
