Born on Palaven, Manai was lineage to a name known far and wide for their military prowess though gifted with biotic powers from birth she was deemed a failure in her parents eyes and was given a harsh upbringing in comparison to her younger sister. Eventually at the age of enlistment, Manai gladly joined and was placed into service with a Cabal sect specialising in espionage and assassination.

Quickly becoming a well worn tool, Manai was soon respected by her peers in the Cabal circles and rose in rank until she eventually gained Kabalim over her sect. An expert in hand-to-hand and stealth, Manai gladly took any opportunity she could to prove herself and her sect. Her sister eventually followed in her footsteps and enlisted into the Military as soon as she could.

Several years passed before the sisters ever saw each other again, war being the only thing that gave them glimpses of their other sibling. This came to a head during a now redacted operation that hoped to see the clearing of a prominent threat to the Turian hierarchy, Human and Baterian mercenaries where the turning point in this fight which lead to the death of Manai's younger sister which devastated the Kabalim.

She left the Turian military shortly after, unable to stand their laws and her parents disgust with the loss of their "only true daughter". She turned to a life of bounty-hunting and assassination, only turning away from that path to help in the defence of Earth and the downfall of the Reapers. She still to this day seeks some sort of personal redemption for failing to save her sister.
