Two Paragraph Backstory(For Returning players it is only one Paragraph), Five to Seven Sentences per Paragraph.:

Richard's life started from beginnings that could be considered humble, by modern standards. He was raised in a communal home in the harsher parts of the megalopolis that Los Angeles had become in the latter part of the 22nd century, so he was always around the bright, shiny towers and big spacecraft, he just never got to touch or interact with that side of life. Richard was always something of a joker, and a fun-hog, and he had one hell of a fascination with the stars. His grades were alright in school, though his true intelligence was always when it came to people. Through the guidance of his mentor and caretaker, a now-retired member of the Alliance special forces, Richard would go on to enlist in the Alliance Marines in 2176, on his eighteenth birthday. And it would be a decision that would change his life more drastically than he could ever imagine.

Shortly following his enlistment, Richard would see action cleaning up pirate bands in the Skyllian Verge in the aftermath of the Skyllian Blitz, would fight in the slave rebellions on Anhur, and would eventually come to take part in the Alliance retaliation strike on the moon of Torfan. A strong will, and a dedication to giving back to the man he admired would see Richard through these trials. As the years went by, his merits eventually earned him the right to be among the Officer corps, and the Special Operations command took notice of him. Prior to the Reaper War, Richard trained for and achieved his N-Certifications, graduating as an N7 in 2183. He would go on to serve during the fighting with Sovereign and the Geth, the Collectors, and eventually, the Reaper War. These trials have taken some of the original spunk and liveliness out of Richard, but through the tougher exterior still lives that fun-loving younger man.
