Two Paragraph Backstory (You are no fun at all): Tark’osvarl was brought into the fray of the Migrant Fleet on one of the Liveships circa 2142 to a set of parents, the likes of which whom were both Migrant Fleet Marines currently on a volunteer rotation. Originally a part of the Heavy Fleet, they were reassigned as per their request since the Liveships were arguably more suitable to the premise of raising a child as opposed to the Warfare-orientated ships – a temporary bid, if anything. Their relocation would not be permanent since they were already deferred to the crew of the Carreciann, a Heavy Frigate within the Migrant Heavy Fleet. They would have, for the most part, been grounded there until the young Tark’osvarl could have set about on their pilgrimage when they came of age. For the moment however, they were confined to simple policing duties on the Shellen whilst their child was raised.

The younger Quarian was brought up on a singular premise by their parents – that their Homeworld would have had to one day be reclaimed through force were they to see it again, but ships full of Engineers and Helmsmen alone would not be able to do the ground work as it was. That was up to the Heavy Fleet Marines to sort out, and only a miniscule fraction of the odd few millions of Quarians that yet remained were actual Marines to speak of. The majority, for better or worse, did not have any form of experience as far as ground work went. He was readily encouraged to follow in the footsteps of his parents, something that he would have come to accept as a concept in his youth. There yet remained the hurdle that remained in his way however, and that was the fact that he had to essentially prove himself worthy of joining Heavy Fleet as a Marine through the rite of pilgrimage.

Indeed, he would have one day come to depart from the Migrant Fleet, destined to the planet of Illium – a matter of choice made of his own accord, as per a discrete recommendation passed on by his Parents. He knew little of the galaxy outside of the Migrant Fleet – as any Quarian of his age might not have done. It was why one of the driving points of the pilgrimage was to encourage the youth to get out and experience what was out there – so that they may have appreciated their life within the Migrant Fleet all the more. Getting there was problematic since the Migrant Fleet was not permitted within its space however, but it did not stop him from seeking local passage of his own accord. Of course, it was an ideal place though due to the bustling commerce that flowed through the gateway between the Terminus systems and Citadel space. But it would have yet anchored him for a good amount of time – most of his work consisted of using the equipment that was bestowed to him by the fleet in the name of fostering his experience in the field of security. He was hardly anything good to begin with in the field of independent work, earning but a mere pittance of credits to his name. But with time and a number of investments, he was able to scrape by enough so as to at least garner some form of a respectable income.

A fair few years rolled on – by Twenty One Sixty Six [2166], the Quarian found himself with enough credits to pass an investment in a shipment of starship ammunition – the sort that would fit the armaments of the Carreciann. By now, the Quarian had half expected that his Parents would have likely dropped out of the field of being Migrant Fleet Marines because of their age, but it did not deter him in the slightest. A great majority of the work that he had conducted up to that point in time was done with the intent of being their successor. With all of the manifests to the shipment in hand, he set about his return to the Migrant Fleet so he could seek to re-enter the fold of his folk. His gift, for better or worse, was relatively up to par with what the Heavy Fleet might have sought, or so he thought at the very least.

Once he had departed the planet of Illium so as to rally with the Captain of the Carreciann, he presented the result of his Pilgrimage so that he could have signed on with the crew formally, and as an adult. So that he may have once again been able to see his parents after such a long while, and so that he might have started the prospect of using the experience he had gained in order to undergo the process of becoming a Migrant Fleet Marine. He was, in his mind’s eye, an ideal candidate for such a role. And when the manifests for the ammunition changed hands, he was officially welcomed aboard the vessel and assigned such a role. To him, it was almost alien being aboard the Fleet once more since he had spent so long away from it. Being on a planet was a surreal experience, but that contributed to a secondary factor in its own right. Whilst he would go on to become one of the Migrant Fleet Marines just as his parents were, he would have additionally been placed on the reserve in the event where the Fleet would require an expeditionary force to complete a task planetside. Tark’osvarl was caught by surprise as far as this premise went – he had half expected to be relegated to the usual ship policing, just as his parents were. Between there and the present date however, he saw relatively few deployments considering the isolated approach the Quarians had to the galaxy as a whole. Whenever he was sent down on away missions from the Heavy Fleet, it was based around the pursuit of ensuring that whatever they returned with would have been worth it. Or whatever losses they’d of sustained would have been superficial.

More than that however, his duties also fell back to the usual ones that the Marines faced. Whenever security detail for another ship was lacking, he would otherwise be transferred temporarily for one example. In the general sense of things, it was hardly valorous in any respect of the word. But the duty was yet fulfilled, and would have been up until 2186, where the Migrant Fleet mobilized in order to move back to the home system of Tikkun. Prior to the Reaper invasion, one instance of deployment he was sent down to was on Korlus, fighting Blue Suns mercenaries so that the Fleet could gain access to the materials they needed in order to install dreadnaught-class weapons on their Liveships. What followed in the midst of the Reaper Invasion was a number of skirmishes across the various planets so as to eliminate the Geth presence with the assistance of the recently developed countermeasures from the Special Projects Fleet. However, in this phase of being an expeditionary trooper, he was inadvertently stationed at one of the forward colonies after it was liberated from the Geth – his role solely relegated to the premise of holding it so that it could not have been recaptured. It was there that he saw the events unfold before him, constantly in check with Heavy Fleet in order to ensure that the battle waging throughout the system was yet being won. Even in lieu of the Reaper Code upload, his liberated position remained free of intrusion on the part of the Geth – his position on the ground was ultimately where he belonged in the stead of things. The Fleets would have done their part without him.

With the advent of the pact which saw both the Geth and the Quarians unite in an uneasy treaty, Tark’osvarl was instead relegated back to Heavy Fleet, where he and a number of Migrant Fleet Marines would take part in the battle of Earth. Soldiers, one and all – their home would have yet been Rannoch should this war have been won, but it was not their job to stay and help resettle the planet. A job yet remained where the Admirality had pledged their assistance towards the Human race for their battle over Earth. The stead of the fighting which would come to ensue would have saw the Marine injured throughout the course of the battle after sustaining a series of shots to one of their arms. It put them out of commission, and the end of the war boiled over with his participation remaining minimal at best due to his injury and subsequent infection. One month later however, he would have been brought forward as a dedicated contribution on the part of the Admirality Board towards one of the newer Joint Task Force groups – having recovered and recuperated from his wounds following the addition of cybernetic prosthesis a bout of extensive care so as to help repair both broken tissue and damaged motor functionality. It was something that he would not take in stride, his initial wish being to return to the Migrant Fleet - but even his Captain was insistent about his relocation away from Rannoch for the time being, and thus it had to be unless he wished to bare a negative social stigma upon his return. Orders were there to be followed, but that did not mean that Tark’osvarl would like them.
