Two Paragraph Backstory(For Returning players it is only one Paragraph), Five to Seven Sentences per Paragraph.

Everything was black, and there was a faint ringing in his ears as Pip Lebeau lay in silence. And slowly but surely he heard something over the ringing, someone was calling his name. “Pip! Pip are you there?!” The ringing got louder and his head hurt, the pain forcing his eyes open. He saw red, red was everywhere – for a seven year old boy to say this was frighting, was an understatement. Looking up he saw who was calling his name, his mother who was trying to push down on the chest of a body Pip didn't recognize. He felt tears run down his cheeks as he began to cry, trying to get to his feet he stumbled forward to run to his mother, and just like that a round flew forward and went straight through his mothers head. Pip stood in horror as the life was sucked out of his parents – unable to do anything but cry, and cry, and cry. Eventually he tried to step forward and touch his mothers corpse but was interrupted when more rounds started to come his way.

The Seeker swarms had failed on all but a small group of soldiers and civilians hold out in a remote area on the colony world, the Collectors decided that since they could not be captured, they would be killed. The Collector Drone advanced on the boy and prepared to kill him when its head exploded in a large amount of viscera and gore. And Pip spun around to see a man crouched behind a barricade with a sniper rifle in hand, he yelled at the boy to run and so he did. He ran harder than he ever did in his life, coming to the man who grabbed his arm and then began to run with them from the Collectors behind them, a three round burst caught Pip in the arm and he surely would have died if the man had not kept pulling him along. Coming to a group of soldiers barricaded in a circle around a M35 Mako the door dropped and the man ushered Pip inside, telling the driver he had all the civilians and they were clear to go, Pip looked at the man one more time – as if memorizing his face before the door shut and the Mako roared out of the area. As the Mako traversed the quiet roads heard it, like a fog horn – a Collector rose from the ground and started to fire at the Mako, missing just barely as they made it to their destination. A secret panic bunker deep in the ground of the colony world.

Arriving there it deposited its passengers, troopers ushered them inside quickly and closed the blast doors. Once inside, medics inspected each of the passengers – it was then that Pip, coming out of his haze of adrenaline and fear realized something - he could not feel his left arm. One of the medics came over to him, quickly calling others they asked him how he felt, Pip responded he felt a little sick and that he couldn't feel his left arm. The medics seem surprised by something, then asked the boy if he had anyone with him – Pip, in denial, told them that his parents were in another bunker and it was just him. The medics nodded and then told him to lay down as they needed to check something, Pip was a little weary but he complied, then he felt something prick his neck and everything went black again.

Pip woke up to a dull white around him, he still couldn't feel his left arm but he looked around to see an EKG hooked to him and a soft beeping coming from it. There was an IV bag next to him, although it was empty like it had already been used. Wondering why he couldn't feel his left arm he looked down to see . . . nothing. His left arm was gone, completely. Because Pip was still under the effects of the drugs he did not freak out, instead he called for a doctor in a sleepy voice, one came to his beside and explained that his arm was horribly damaged and they had to remove it. He was also informed that the aliens were gone, although Pip did not know what the aliens were the doctor said they were something called Collectors and not much else was known about them, and Pip understood that much. The doctor stood and left Pip alone to the quite beeping, it was here were everything came rushing back to him, the death of his parents, the Collectors, and the pain. He cried for longer than he cared to remember, crying himself to sleep that night only to be faced with the start of what would become his “Night Terrors”. A few of the soldiers in the bunker told Pip that the doors would stay closed for a few more weeks so he might want to get comfortable. It was in this time that Pip met his future adoptive father, the Master Sergeant in-charge of the bunker.

Forwarding in the young mans life, Pip, now 24 with a cybernetic left arm, cleared psychologically (As long as he took medication for his PTSD) for enrollment in one of the newly established military schools built to train soldiers for events such as the one that occurred, his Adoptive father had been selected as the new director of the school and had gotten Pip through the necessary steps to enroll. He was first asked what he wished to specialize in, examples being naval officer, mechanized crewman, front line assault, etc. He was also told that whatever he chose to be specialized in, he would test on to see if he was actually right for the position he wished. Pip, after thinking about it for quite some time decided on Close Quarters Combat, and to test his ability he was run through a serious of obstacle courses and training to test if he could make the cut. He did, and was accepted into the CQB class – his training was brutal in a sense, he was taught hand-to-hand combat in case he were to ever enter a room and his gun was taken from him or did not function. He learned the ins and outs of the Sokolov X combat shotgun for use in breaching and various other situations. His first time on the course was 2:31.2 seconds, by the time he had completed his first year of training he could run the course in 30 seconds flat.

After another year of training his graduation day was ready. His adoptive father entered the room with tears in his eyes and embraced him. He told Pip how proud he was of him, and how he was the son that he never could have. He symbolically buttoned up the last few buttons of Pips dress uniform and sent him out to the stage. Pip followed in the rest of his class to the stage, each one of them were presented with their designations as CQB Specialists and their diplomas. Then his father came onto stage and shook every one of their hands, congratulating all of them. After the ceremony they all returned to their bunks and packed up their things, as the assignments were being handed out and Pip was to be sent to a spaceship for active duty. His father greeted him at the landing platform and gave him one last hug before he stepped out onto the platform and entered the shuttle which would take him to his new life.

His tour of duty would take him through many colonies and cities, his favorite by far was the citadel as it just seemed like a very lively place and by far had the most interesting people. His comrades called him the “Sad rabbit” a name given to most door kickers because they went in first and more often than naught, got their fair share of bullets. He was shot quite a few times but the body armor he wore did its work just fine, in fact he prides himself in the number of times he could have been killed but the armor protected him, leading to a practice of putting tallies for every time he could have died. His current number of tallies is 72. Pip also fought in the battle for earth against the reapers where he lost his left arm again and had it replaced with a better augmentation. After which he was re stationed to another spaceship, ready to fight again.
