Two Paragraph Backstory(For Returning players it is only one Paragraph), Five to Seven Sentences per Paragraph.

Born into a lower caste family on the Batarian homeworld of Khar'shan; Edrachi started life as a humble citizen destined to fulfil the job designated to his caste from his birth, as a miner. Similarly to most of the Batarian young, he wished to leave the carefully quarantined planet and make his way across the galaxy to understand what wonders lay beyond his birth world. During his first off world mining expedition, he and his comrades took control of the ship and fled the Batarian sector. With no real plan as to what happens next, it wasn't long before the crew became unanimous behind the idea of piracy which they believed would make them wealthy. After terrorising a the nearby sectors for a series of weeks, pillaging colonies and raiding any small faculties they could find the Alliance navy became aware of their presence, after they had taken vital intelligence without realising from a mining colony.

The alliance dispatched a singular ship to deal with the menace of piracy, recover the intelligence and end their brief and insignificant reign of terror. Upon first contact Edrachi turned on his former comrades so that he might convince the alliance ship that he was a slave, and in doing so found a place on the alliance ship at least until they reached the citadel. Edrachi left the crew at the citadel, collecting his assets and gear before hiring himself out as a mercenary. Batarians were of course untrusted and disliked among those at the citadel, renowned for piracy and slavery and avoided at all costs, so he found little work. Brancerr had decided long before arriving at the citadel, that if he wanted to continue living he must do so within legal means which had resulted in him turning down the more illicit mercenary work. He eventually found a group of humans who intended to set up a colony in a more dangerous but fertile planet nearing Batarian space, and so he offered his insider knowledge in return for a job as a guard on the colony.

Edrachi spent a great portion of his life defending the colony, it wasn't profitable and was hard work but he found himself doing well and felt committed to the colonists. There were various raids of which the well prepared and knowledgeable militia found ease repelling. It had taken almost a decade, but Edrachi began to blend in with the human culture, he kept many of his natural ingrained Batarian traits, but as a member of the lower caste was quick to abandon his loyalty to the Empire. He remained easily angered and vigorously stubborn, but began to understand and empathise more openly - it was here that he began to be called Ed, in contrast to Edrachi. However it was not to last, and it had taken a great many years for the defences to be defeated but the Geth were a formidable and unknown foe to Edrachi. The colony was raised to the ground, Edrachi and a select few colonists managed to survive the raid and were rescued by the crew of an alliance ship investigating the colonies destruction.

Instead of returning to the citadel along with the other colonists, Edrachi believed he had had enough of a mercenary colonist life and signed up with the ship which had rescued him. It took some persuasion and a clean record but he enlisted as a member of the  ship, a simply security role which he excelled in. Relations with other crew members were not often friendly, but were far from hostile and after four years of serving, including during the events leading up to the day he was eventually transferred to a new ship, a new crew and a new conflict.
