Two Paragraph Backstory:
Miranda was born in the Megacity center of the Shinjuku District of Tokyo, Japan, on the 7th of March, 2158. Her parents were two upper-middle class citizens with jobs in retail, her father owning a mainly produce distribution company. She lived inside home with her parents for the first year of her life, after then the family moved to Houston, Texas. This was mostly due to her father's business. In the early part of her life, she attended a private, higher learning elementary school, which she was enrolled to because of her parents strict greed. As she progressed through school she took all the higher learning classes she could, and made straight A's through out High School. She went to College as a Mechanical Engineering major, and of course passed it as well. Shortly after she completed College, she enlisted into the Alliance Marines, going on to be a Small Arms Repairer and Technician with her Major and MM score, which was nearly perfect.
Of her deployments, the first of which actually notable would be of the Skyllian Blitz. She was among the support of the ground teams, stationed to repair broken weapons and armor. With the support of the Alliance reinforcements to the defenders on Elysium, the Batarian-funded pirate's assault was repulsed wholly by the Alliance Navy and ground teams.
After the complete victory on Elysium, Miranda was sent to the B.O.O. on Elysium at the time to repair and assist assets of the government there. Miranda was called back into service after a month, transferring to the 103rd Marine Division. She was given the pseudo position of rifleman at the time, still a repairman and technician when out of combat. She was involved in tracking and assaulting Pirate bases across the surface of the moon of Torfan.
Being returned to duty almost instantly afterwards, she was assigned ship duty aboard Alliance ships of various size, repairs and status during the Eden Prime war. She was moved to the 5th fleet after Saren's attempt to take the Citadel, holding maintenance positions aboard various ships once again, although, she was able to join one of a few assaults to take back the Citadel. She pushed with the second wave, taking back the citadel sector by sector, clearing out remaining hostile forces. The flagship Sovereign was destroyed eventually by the combined force of the Navy outside the Citadel, ending the Geth threat in the Citadel.
During the beginning of the war with the Reapers, Miranda was stationed in Britain during the first Reaper invasion of Earth, acting as a field technician and repairman as per usual deployments. She was a primary in most outposts, directing lower field engineers under her own given command. After the city was set upon by Reaper ships, she was a part of the assault until the regiment retreated into safer alliance controlled space near the citadel. The events of the timeline are now in the present.

Helping on the normandy? Heh no, you can say you helped in engineering the SSV classing for different ships but the normandy barely saw light outside of named engineers in the series.

i just used the timeline for the most part. having being a mechanical engineer it's possible that either 1, they didn't even inform the character of the cloaking, or 2, she was assigned specifically for mechanical reasons
