Lucas Keegan was born in 2157 CE in Buenos Aires, Argentina, during the First Contact War with the Turian Hierarchy on Shanxi. His father died, in 2186 CE, as a honored member of the Alliance's Forth Fleet, which was destroyed by the Reapers after emerging from the Charon Relay in the Reaper Invasion. His mother died as soon as she brought him to life, he was identified as a biotic. According to what his father explained to the doctors, he said his wife was exposed to element zero due to an accident which happened during their honeymoon in 2154 CE.

In 2170 CE, Lucas was sent to the Gagarin Station by his father after receiving a letter of the Alliance and signing it up to join the BAaT program and develop Lucas's biotic potential. There, he is fitted with L3 implants after they were officially released, keeping in mind that the L2 implants were proven to be extremely dangerous. However, he experimented noticeable changes in his mood sometimes.

In 2175 CE, when Lucas was 18 years old, he enlisted in the Alliance military. He studied and learned combat expertise through different kind of trainings to become an Alliance Marine. He combined his experience and lessons learned in the Gagarin Station with the military training he received there. He also made many friends during his career, in spite of his sense of humour.

Once he finished his career, in 2180 CE, he was taken to the Forth Fleet, where his father was, for a few years just to learn the basics. Two years later, when he was ready enough to move on by himself, he was assigned to the Fifth Fleet, where he reached the rank of Sergeant.

In 2183 CE, the Fleet participated in the Battle of the Citadel by going through the mass relay, once it was unlocked and after receiving the order of the Commander of the SSV Normandy, to protect the Destiny Ascension and save the Council from the Sovereign's attack. Fortunately, the Fleet made it and escaped from the conflict with the Council alive. Also there were no casualties, just a few scratches on the ship though. After that, the Fleet flies back to the Earth for repairing and maintenance.

In 2185 CE, Lucas is fitted with the new L5x implants which were developed shortly before the end of the year 2184 CE. These new implants gave him the ability to increase his powers, more than what L4 implants would have done. They also allowed him to amplify his range of view of targets at long distances. He still prefered close quarter combat instead of firing with long range rifles.

When the Reaper Invasion was no longer a myth and arrived soon to the Earth releasing a chaotic battle, in 2186 CE, Lucas was sent to there as ground infantry to defend it at any cost. He was chosen to lead one squadron to contain the Reapers as much as they could along with other squadrons which offer heavy machinery support in London, England. He was leading a group of fifty men. More than half of them died while the Alliance was trying to do as much as they could to bring all the help possible from the other species of the galaxy to the Earth. Since then, he felt so guilty about the occurrence. He wasn't even the same person he used to be after that.

Finally, once the Reapers got eliminated thanks to the project Crucible and the many other fleets, he decided to retire from the Alliance Marines and join the Task Force.
